and finish checkout. Everything you've already built comes with you.
If you change your mind at checkout, nothing happens. You come back to the Plans page with "Checkout canceled — No charge was made. Pick a plan whenever you're ready."
Changing plan
On a plan you've paid for, go to Billing → Plans, press Switch to this plan on the tier you want, and Confirm switch.
Moving up takes effect straight away. Your higher pin allowance and project ceiling are available immediately — useful if you've hit a limit mid-month and don't want to wait. The dialog shows any prorated charge before you confirm.
Moving down takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, so you keep what you paid for until then. Billing shows it in the meantime:
Scheduled downgrade Switches to [plan] on [date].
Moving to a smaller plan
A lower tier allows fewer projects — but nothing is removed to make you fit.
If you end up with more projects than your new plan allows, they all stay. Your Billing page simply shows you over the line under Projects. Every project, its pins, its boards and its history are untouched.
What you can't do while you're over is add another one:
Project limit reached Your plan allows at most [N] project(s) — one per website. Upgrade to add more.
Your pin allowance drops at the same time, both per month and per project per day. Pins you've already published stay published — Pinterest doesn't know or care about your plan. The new allowance applies to the pins you publish from that point.
Cancelling
Press Cancel subscription on Billing. There's one confirmation and no retention maze:
Cancel subscription? You'll keep [plan] access until [date], then it cancels. You can resume any time before then.
Confirm with Cancel at period end. Cancelling doesn't cut you off mid-month — you keep the plan you paid for until the period ends. Until then Billing shows "Subscription ending — Cancels on [date]. Resume to keep your plan.", and you can resume right up to that date.
If you'd rather it end now, Cancel immediately does that, but read its warning first.
What happens once a cancellation takes effect:
Publishing pauses. Your dashboard says "Your pins are on hold", and nothing goes out to Pinterest.
No new pins are made, so nothing is spent on your AI key.
Everything you've built stays — projects, boards, pins, history and analytics.
Pins already on Pinterest stay on Pinterest. Cancelling here does nothing to your Pinterest account.
To come back, pick a plan again from Billing → Plans. Publishing picks up where it stopped, against the projects and pins you already have — there's nothing to rebuild and nothing to re-import.
If your plan was set up for you
A few accounts are on a plan our team granted directly. On those, the Plans page doesn't offer a switcher. It says:
You're on a complimentary plan Your [plan] plan was granted by our team and can't be changed here. Reach out to support if you need a different plan.
That's the one case where support is the route. Your 14-day trial and the free plan are not this — on those, choose a plan from Billing → Plans as above.
Common questions
Will I be charged after cancelling?
No. You keep access until the period you've paid for ends, then it stops.
No. Published pins stay on Pinterest. Generated pins stay in the app.
Can I keep using it for free?
Your projects, pins and history stay viewable, but creating and publishing new pins need a paid plan. See Free vs paid.
What happens to a project I delete?
It goes to Trash, where it can be restored. Deleting isn't immediately permanent. See Create your first project.
Do I need to remove my AI key when I cancel?
No. Nothing generates while you're not subscribed, so it costs you nothing to leave it, and it's ready if you come back. If you want to be certain, revoke the key at your provider as well as removing it here; for OpenAI that's the API keys page.
